What is the most important thing about being a good leader?
"You have to have a vision of what has to get done and then use that vision to create a plan to achieve your goals. More importantly, you have to take care of your people."
What is something that you have done that has challenged you?
"Something that challenged me is when I left my old job for my current one. I was happy where I was and I knew I could continue to do well there but I had the opportunity to do better at a new place. However, it was a challenge for me because I had to relearn everything when I transferred. Not only that, but my new job was 3 hours away so I would often have to resolve things over email or phone instead of in person."
How did you learn from it?
"I learned that the only way to reach your potential is to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Always challenge yourself and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish."
Why did you decide to join the Air Force?
"When I got out of high school I didn't feel like I had a lot of options. I knew that I was smart, but my grades didn't always reflect that and I didn't really have anyone to help me decide what to do next. I knew that I wanted to get an education, and joining the military seemed like the best way to do that."
Why did you decide to stay for so long?
"I love serving my country, and being in the Air Force has given me a lot of opportunities to help other people. I want to be there for the people who are coming up, guide them through the process, and give back."
